

Dr. Kevin Dowling
Dr. Dowling is the CEO of Kaarta, a fast-growing revenue-generating company that builds 3D models of the real world in real-time. Previously he was VP of Engineering for 4moms, Vice-President of R&D at MC10, led Engineering and was Vice President of Strategic Technology of Philips Color Kinetics, the pioneer in LED-lighting. Color Kinetics went public in 2004 and was acquired for $800M in 2007 by Philips. Prior to that, he was Chief Robotics Engineer for PRI Automation.
Dr. Dowling has more than 20 years of experience in advanced robotics engineering as a student, Research Engineer and Scientist in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, where his projects included many mobile robot systems and autonomous vehicles for NASA, DARPA, and other sponsors.
Dr. Dowling has over 70 issued US Patents. He received his BS in Mathematics, and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University where he served on the Alumni Board and is now at the School of Computer Science alumni board. He has served on multiple Boards of Directors and advisory boards for for-profit companies and non-profit organizations.
