

Patti Rote
CMU Robotics Industry
Patti Rote is the co-founder of the Girls of Steel Robotics program at Carnegie Mellon’s Field Robotics Center and now serves as finance mentor. As time permits, she mentors robotic start-up companies, and is an adjunct professor at local universities. An advocate of robotics, Patti has organized many networking events over the past 15 years for organizations including the Pittsburgh Robotics Initiative, the Robotics Foundry, and the Technology Collaborative. She also held the position of Robotics Industry Program Director for CMU’s Government Relations while continuing to hold networking events in the region. These events include organizing Congressional Robotics Caucus briefings on Capitol Hill, meeting with over 100 Congressional staff between 2010 and 2013, and being part of the team that led Congress to put National Robotics Week through legislation. Patti has an MBA from Duquesne University and an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh. She attended President Obama’s White House Business Council and participated on panels. She is a recipient of the Girl Scouts of Western PA 2014 Women of Distinction award.
